Transform…Bridge the gap…Change lives!

At International Needs Australia, we understand that issues facing developing nations around the world include not only children, but others as well. This is why we now have two new sponsorships!

You can now choose from three options; Child Sponsorship, Women’s Empowerment Sponsorship and Community Development Sponsorship. Together, they provide much needed help to those less fortunate around the world. For only a small amount each month you can be a part of this change!

Child Sponsorship

Right now, a poor child in a developing country needs someone to reach out and say: "I care”. For only $39 per month you can be that "someone". As an International Needs child sponsor, you will provide nourishing food, clothing, shelter if needed, education and Christian teaching. Your gift initiates a transforming friendship... with benefits for both your sponsored child and you. Sponsors receive personal inspiration through an up-to-date profile and photograph, the opportunity to correspond with them, and the privilege of praying for them and knowing that your caring contribution is making a difference in their life!

Sulemanu’s Story…

Sulemanu was a very young boy when his father passed away. In a small village in Ghana, his mother struggled to provide for Sulemanu and his three older brothers and sisters. They were all of school age and had no food, clothing or medical care. To survive they relied on the generosity of their neighbours. Their neighbour’s charity, though, could only help so much. At one point, Sulemanu’s mother nearly gave his fourteen-year-old sister away to be married, as a desperate attempt to lift her family out of poverty.

Thankfully, International Needs intervened. Sulemanu and his sisters were sponsored through International Needs and started attending the Amrahia Community School. The school gave Sulemanu one precious hot meal a day. The health programs run by the school were the only source of health care for him and his siblings. After completing primary school, sponsorship continued throughout his secondary school education. Sulemanu said to local staff, “If it were not for the sponsorship of I.N. Network, I would not have found Christ and made it to this point in life.”

“I could have died from starvation or been an armed robber, a drug addict or anything that would have been unacceptable to God and society. If I.N. Network continues to help, the Lord willing, I will study to be an Accountant.”

Through Sulemanu’s journey from being a young boy, who never knew where his next meal was going to come from, to a healthy young man expecting to go to University, it is obvious how sponsorship has changed his life. It not only helped him, but his entire family. It lifted the burden of extreme poverty from his mother’s shoulders, and his two older sisters finished their secondary education. Sponsorship does make a difference.

Women’s Empowerment Sponsorship

Sponsoring women on a monthly basis for only $39 per month will support women around the globe! Help them find confidence, gain an education, learn life skills, gain a health education, heal from the pain caused by their past, and most importantly…create a bright and sustainable future for themselves and their family. This type of sponsorship can provide women with; maternal health care, counselling, medical assistance, vocational training, capacity building and business skills.

Memunatu’s Story…

Memunatu’s story is typical of many young women here. Robbed of her dream to complete school and become a lawyer, she was trafficked by her family and sold into marriage with a man as old as her father. She suffered sexual assault and became pregnant. With her child, she escaped back to Ghana and made contact with International Needs. She attended the Adidome Modular Training Programme and learnt how to make bread and other food items. She now lives independently, taking care of her child, who is doing well at primary school. She says, “I’ve escaped from hell and can now take care of myself and have my baby in school.”

Community Development Sponsorship

Sponsoring a community for only $25 per month gives you the knowledge that you are helping build not only facilities and buildings, but also lives. Imagine a world without a home, a toilet, a school, a church or a doctor to go to. This type of sponsorship can provide communities with; schools, clean water facilities, medical facilities, housing, hygiene facilities etc.

Josephine’s Story…

In Uganda, many community members are struggling to survive, and Josephine used to be one of them. Her family had very limited food, poor housing, and a bleak future. Now, thanks to the assistance of the International Needs Community Livelihood Project, Josephine finally has hope. Her family received vegetable seedlings, a calf, and chickens, and the right training in how to keep them healthy. They now have a reliable source of food and Josephine sells the excess produce for much needed income.

The Community Livelihood Project has given Josephine a new lease on life, and most importantly, a brighter future for her family.

You have the power to make an impact in this world. Both monthly costs for 'Women's Empowerment' and ‘Community Development’ sponsorships are guides only.

If you feel the need to, you can always lower or increase them. These new sponsorships, in conjunction with our existing Child Sponsorship provide a holistic way for you to help others.
